Tupuca, LDA is an Angolan privately held technology and logistics company founded in 2015 in Luanda, Angola, with a bold mission to transform how people access goods and services in everyday life. Emerging from the entrepreneurial vision of four young Angolans, Tupuca set out to bring first‑world convenience to Angola through an integrated digital platform that connects consumers, merchants, couriers, and service providers in a single app.
The name “Tupuca” comes from a local Angolan dialect meaning “to indulge,” a concept that reflects the company’s goal of enabling users to effortlessly indulge in food, convenience products, and essential services. While the original idea began as a clothing‑delivery service, the founders quickly pivoted to on‑demand delivery of meals and other products when they recognized the better fit of that model for the Angolan market.
Tupuca’s flagship offering is its mobile app, which allowed users to place orders for food from multiple restaurants across Luanda directly from their smartphones long before similar services became widespread in the region. Over time, the platform expanded beyond food to include grocery delivery, pharmacy delivery, rideshare services under the associated T’Leva brand, and a broader range of on‑demand services. As part of this evolution, Tupuca repositioned its platform toward a “super app” model designed to bring together commerce, logistics, payments, transportation, and more within a single digital ecosystem accessible across Angola.
From its beginnings operating in Luanda, Tupuca extended its footprint to other provinces such as Benguela, creating hundreds of direct jobs for local youth and helping businesses of all sizes fulfill orders to customers’ doorsteps. Its expansion into the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo demonstrated its ambition to build regionally scalable digital logistics solutions, with tens of thousands of users adopting its services and new employment opportunities emerging in these adjacent markets.
Throughout its growth, Tupuca has been seen as a leading example of digital entrepreneurship in Angola, combining local insight with technology to meet everyday needs. With a workforce of more than one hundred employees supported by hundreds of delivery drivers and couriers, the company continues to innovate within the e‑commerce and tech logistics landscape, reinforcing its position as a homegrown success story in Africa’s evolving digital economy.
