Consortium Launches Kribi Port Industrial Zone, a Strategic Hub for Cameroon’s Economic Transformation

A consortium composed of the Autonomous Port of Kribi (PAK), Africa Global Logistics (AGL), Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms (Arise IIP), and Belmont Investments has announced the creation and official launch of the Kribi Port Industrial Zone (KPIZ), a strategic hub aimed at driving industrial, logistics, and tourism development in Cameroon and across the CEMAC sub-region.

Designed to serve as a catalyst for the country’s economic transformation, KPIZ seeks to attract leading investors, promote local processing of natural resources, and strengthen Cameroon’s competitiveness within the Gulf of Guinea and the broader Central African region. The project’s strategic location, immediately adjacent to the deep-water port of Kribi, covers nearly 4,000 hectares and benefits from an extended hinterland connecting to Central Africa. This positioning provides strong potential for industrial, logistics, port, and tourism activities, making KPIZ a key platform for regional growth.

The overall investment in KPIZ is estimated at 795 million euros, or roughly 520 billion CFA francs, illustrating the scale and ambition of the integrated industrial zone. The development plan includes comprehensive infrastructure networks covering roads, energy, water, and telecommunications, alongside a modern business and conference centre, specialized industrial zones, and state-of-the-art logistics facilities. The industrial park has been designed to host priority sectors identified in Cameroon’s national development strategy, including steel and metal processing, timber and forestry products, aluminium and metallurgy, ceramics and building materials, cocoa and agro-processing, textiles and apparel, automotive assembly, plastics manufacturing, cement production, cereals and agri-food processing, as well as fishing and related industries.

KPIZ is expected to have a significant economic impact for Cameroon. The project is projected to create between 110,000 and 150,000 direct and indirect jobs while potentially contributing five to eight percent to the country’s GDP by 2040. It will also play a critical role in revitalizing regional logistics corridors connecting Cameroon to Chad, the Central African Republic, and the Republic of Congo, reducing logistics costs, improving national competitiveness, and supporting local value addition in mining, agriculture, and forestry. By strengthening Cameroon’s positioning as an industrial and logistics hub, KPIZ is set to become a central driver of sustainable growth in the sub-region.

The development of KPIZ is being carried out with a responsible, inclusive, and sustainable approach in close collaboration with Cameroonian authorities to ensure coherent planning around the Port of Kribi. In addition to industrial and logistics infrastructure, the project emphasizes social development, including the provision of essential services, improving living conditions for employees and local communities, compliance with environmental and social standards, and the gradual integration of local small and medium-sized enterprises into value chains.

Established on February 26, 2026, KPIZ is the company created by the Autonomous Port of Kribi, Africa Global Logistics, Arise IIP, and Belmont Investments for the development of the integrated industrial zone linked to the Port of Kribi. Covering nearly 4,000 hectares, the zone offers world-class infrastructure, a modern business and conference centre, and a one-stop shop for investors, combining strategic location and operational excellence to support sustainable and inclusive economic growth for Cameroon and the wider region.
