The GICA® (Global Intermodal Council Awards) has announced the winners of its Afghanistan categories, recognising outstanding organisations and leaders who are driving innovation, efficiency, and connectivity across freight forwarding, multimodal transport, infrastructure development, cross-border trade, and logistics leadership.
The GICA® Awards honour institutions and individuals who are strengthening Afghanistan’s role as a strategic land-linked economy within regional and global trade corridors.
Freight Forwarding Company of the Year
The Freight Forwarding Company of the Year award has been presented to FGi Solutions, in recognition of its operational excellence, reliable cargo coordination, and contribution to strengthening freight connectivity across Afghanistan’s regional trade networks.
Multimodal Transport Operator of the Year
The Multimodal Transport Operator of the Year award has been conferred upon Ghazanfar Group, in recognition of its integrated logistics capabilities and continued investment in end-to-end transport solutions linking road, rail, and border logistics systems.
Inland Container Depot of the Year
The Inland Container Depot of the Year award has been awarded to Ghazanfar Port Cargo, for its role in improving inland cargo handling efficiency and supporting trade consolidation and distribution across Afghanistan’s logistics ecosystem.
Cross-Border Trade Enabler of the Year
DP World Afghanistan has been named Cross-Border Trade Enabler of the Year for its contribution to modernising key border infrastructure and advancing trade facilitation systems that improve cargo flow efficiency and regional connectivity.
Intermodal CEO of the Year
The Intermodal CEO of the Year award has been presented to M. Ismail Ghazanfar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ghazanfar Group, in recognition of his leadership in expanding integrated logistics services and advancing Afghanistan’s intermodal trade capacity.
Logistics Leader of the Year
The Logistics Leader of the Year award has been awarded to Zemarai Kamgar, Founder and Owner of Kam Air / Kamgar Group, in recognition of his contribution to aviation logistics, regional connectivity, and transport sector development.
The GICA® Awards continue to highlight the emergence of a resilient and evolving logistics ecosystem in Afghanistan, underscoring the importance of infrastructure, private sector leadership, and cross-border cooperation in enabling sustainable trade growth.
The Council noted that this year’s winners represent a new generation of logistics leadership committed to improving efficiency, strengthening connectivity, and positioning Afghanistan as a vital corridor within Eurasian and South Asian trade flows.
