Global Intermodal Council Awards Honors Africa Global Logistics and Roger Nkubito in Burundi

The Global Intermodal Council (GIC) has announced the latest recipients of the prestigious Global Intermodal Council Awards, recognizing outstanding performance and leadership in the global freight forwarding and logistics industry.

Africa Global Logistics (AGL) has been named Freight Forwarder of the Year, while its Managing Director for Rwanda and Burundi, Roger Nkubito, has been honored with the Logistics Leader of the Year award for Burundi. The recognitions highlight both organizational excellence and individual leadership in advancing logistics capabilities and supply chain connectivity across the region.

The awards recognize companies and professionals who demonstrate exceptional operational performance, innovation in logistics services, and sustained contributions to strengthening multimodal transport networks that facilitate international trade.

In announcing the awards, the Global Intermodal Council noted that Africa Global Logistics has distinguished itself through its role in facilitating regional and international cargo movement. Through its integrated logistics operations, the company supports the efficient movement of goods across major trade corridors linking inland markets in East and Central Africa with key maritime gateways such as the Port of Dar es Salaam in Dar es Salaam and the Port of Mombasa in Mombasa. These corridors remain critical to supply chains serving landlocked economies such as Burundi and Rwanda.

The Council also recognized the leadership of Roger Nkubito in strengthening logistics operations and developing strategic supply chain solutions in the Great Lakes region. In his role overseeing AGL’s activities in Rwanda and Burundi, Nkubito has contributed to expanding freight forwarding services, strengthening operational efficiency, and supporting the development of logistics systems that enable trade across regional markets.

The Global Intermodal Council Awards celebrate excellence in freight forwarding, logistics innovation, and intermodal transport leadership across international supply chains. The awards recognize organizations and professionals whose work contributes to improving the efficiency, reliability, and integration of global logistics networks.
