Global Intermodal Council Announces 2026 Algeria Award Winners

The Global Intermodal Council has officially announced the 2026 National Winners for Algeria, recognizing excellence across digital transformation, maritime operations, port infrastructure, freight forwarding, and enterprise leadership within the logistics and transport sector.

The 2026 Algeria Awards spotlight organizations and leaders shaping the country’s evolving intermodal ecosystem at a time of significant infrastructure modernization and digital advancement.

In the Digital Transformation in Logistics Award category, the Council recognizes Fardjellah Benaissa, Co-Founder and CEO of Freightmee. Under his leadership, Freightmee has emerged as a SaaS-driven freight technology platform modernizing transport coordination through integrated Freight Management Systems and Transportation Management Systems. The company’s work replacing manual, paper-based workflows with structured digital processes represents a significant step toward operational transparency and efficiency in Algeria’s freight sector.

The Container Terminal of the Year Award is presented to Béjaïa Mediterranean Terminal. As the primary container terminal at the Port of Béjaïa, BMT continues to serve as a strategic Mediterranean gateway for Algeria’s trade flows. Its public-private partnership model and sustained operational performance have positioned it as a benchmark for container handling productivity, safety, and service reliability.

The Shipping Line of the Year Award is conferred upon Hyproc Shipping Company. As the maritime transport arm of Sonatrach, Hyproc Shipping Company plays a critical role in safeguarding Algeria’s energy logistics and maritime sovereignty. Its operational discipline and fleet management capabilities underpin the country’s hydrocarbon export infrastructure and reinforce its international shipping presence.

In the Freight Forwarding Company of the Year category, the award goes to Agility Algeria, recognized for operational excellence, compliance standards, and its contribution to facilitating international trade flows into and out of Algeria. The company’s structured freight solutions and supply chain coordination capabilities continue to support both industrial and commercial clients.

In recognition of enterprise-scale logistics excellence, the Council acknowledges RedMed Group and its founder Abdelmadjid Fechkeur for building one of Algeria’s most diversified logistics and industrial service groups. From its origins in oilfield support services to its evolution into a multi-affiliate enterprise employing thousands, RedMed exemplifies Algerian industrial entrepreneurship aligned with logistics capability development.

Commenting on the announcement, the Global Intermodal Council noted that Algeria’s 2026 winners reflect a sector balancing infrastructure modernization, digital transformation, maritime strength, and private enterprise leadership. The awards underscore Algeria’s growing importance within Mediterranean and African trade corridors and highlight the companies and individuals translating national reform into measurable operational performance.
