Jeffery Barrie: Leading OIA Global’s Integrated Supply Chain Strategy

Jeffery Barrie is the Chief Executive Officer of OIA Global, a Portland, Oregon–based supply chain management company that provides integrated logistics, packaging, and sourcing solutions to multinational manufacturers and retailers. Barrie assumed the role in August 2020, bringing more than three decades of leadership experience in global logistics and transportation management.

Founded in 1988, OIA Global has grown into a multinational supply chain services provider with more than 1,200 employees and a network of over 65 offices across 28 countries. The company offers a combination of international freight forwarding, packaging engineering, materials sourcing, and supply chain optimization services for industries including manufacturing, fashion and apparel, healthcare, and retail. Annual revenues associated with the broader logistics operations have approached the billion-dollar mark, reflecting the company’s role as a mid-sized global third-party logistics provider.

Barrie joined OIA Global after serving as Chief Executive Officer of the United States operations of DB Schenker, one of the world’s largest logistics companies. During his tenure at DB Schenker, he led the U.S. business through a period of operational transformation and growth in freight forwarding, contract logistics, and supply chain services. Over his career at the company he also held senior global roles in sales, strategic development, and specialized logistics sectors such as energy and project cargo.

Earlier in his career, Barrie held leadership positions at BAX Global and began his professional journey at Air Express International, where he worked on international route development and global account management. These roles provided him with extensive experience across air freight, ocean freight, and integrated supply chain operations during a period when global trade networks were rapidly expanding.

At OIA Global, Barrie’s leadership has focused on strengthening the company’s position as an integrated supply chain partner rather than a traditional freight forwarder. The company combines logistics with packaging design and materials sourcing to help multinational firms manage complex global supply chains. Its services include international freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution, customs brokerage, and supply chain consulting, supported by digital tools that improve cargo visibility and operational efficiency.

Barrie has also overseen strategic network expansion and acquisitions aimed at strengthening OIA Global’s presence in key markets. In 2024 the company acquired the Irish logistics firm Sandford Freight, extending its European footprint and increasing its global network to more than 50 owned offices in 27 countries. The acquisition formed part of a broader growth strategy designed to support customers operating in sectors such as electronics, healthcare, retail, and industrial manufacturing.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Barrie studied business administration in the United States and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas. His international background and extensive industry experience have shaped a leadership approach focused on operational excellence, digitization, and high-performance global teams.
