Multiparques: Key Player in Shaping the Movement and Storage of Cargo in Angola

Multiparques is an Angolan logistics and port services company that has emerged as a key player in shaping the movement and storage of cargo in the country. Formally known as Multiparques Terminais, Parqueamento e Armazenagem, Lda., the firm was established in 2004 in response to the growing need for efficient cargo handling beyond the congested main port in Luanda. It is legally Angolan and has built a reputation over more than two decades for providing warehousing, freight handling and logistics services to both domestic and international clients with operations centred around Viana, Luanda Province.

From its beginnings addressing the storage and transfer of vehicles and containers, Multiparques has expanded into a comprehensive logistics provider. The company operates significant warehousing space and heavy equipment that supports container handling, open yard storage, specialised cargo storage, and maintenance of cargo handling machinery. Its facilities are designed to help streamline the movement of goods to and from the Port of Luanda, one of the busiest maritime gateways in Angola. Multiparques also offers crucial services such as container unpacking and repacking, inventory control systems with real-time reporting, and transport coordination that supports supply chain flows across the region.

Multiparques’ strategic importance in Angola’s logistics landscape has grown as the national economy has sought to diversify and improve trade infrastructure. The company plays a supporting role in Angola’s efforts to reduce supply chain bottlenecks by offering storage and inland logistics solutions that take pressure off port terminals. Its location and services are geared towards easing congestion at Port of Luanda while enhancing the speed and reliability of cargo distribution inland.

In recent years Multiparques has been part of major collaborative ventures that reflect the evolving logistics ecosystem in Angola. In 2024 the firm joined Unicargas and global port operator AD Ports Group in a long‑term agreement to modernise and operate the multipurpose terminal at the Port of Luanda under a concession from the Luanda Port Authority. This arrangement is backed by significant investment aimed at upgrading the terminal’s infrastructure and capacity, transforming it into a modern container and roll‑on roll‑off hub capable of handling much larger volumes of cargo. The joint effort also includes development of integrated logistics and freight forwarding services that leverage Multiparques’ local expertise and partners’ global networks.

Over its history Multiparques has demonstrated a commitment to evolving with Angola’s broader trade goals. Its business decisions have reflected an understanding of the country’s heavy reliance on imported goods and the need for efficient supply chain solutions. As Angola continues to invest in transport infrastructure and port modernisation, Multiparques is positioned as a home‑grown logistics company with deep roots in the angolan market and connections to international partners that can help unlock new opportunities in regional trade.
