Nicholas Fournier is a seasoned international executive with more than twenty-five years of experience in strategic management, global operations, and business development across sectors including energy, construction, security, and infrastructure. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Lobito Atlantic Railway (LAR), a strategic transport corridor operator in Angola that plays a critical role in regional trade and mining logistics. In this position, Nicholas oversees the governance and strategic direction of LAR, focusing on operational efficiency, capacity expansion, and strengthening the company’s role as an open-access corridor connecting Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and broader regional markets.
Before joining LAR, Nicholas held senior leadership positions across several multinational organizations. He was Vice President of Development and Energy Markets at ADIT–GEOS Group in France, where he drove strategic growth initiatives within the energy and defense sectors. He also served as Managing Director of G4S Iraq, leading over 2,500 personnel in complex security operations for both governmental and multinational clients. In Singapore, he was Chief Operating Officer and Board Member at KS Drilling, managing multi-country operations and delivering high safety and commercial performance across ten countries. Earlier in his career, he held significant operational leadership roles at Transocean, overseeing fleet performance and securing long-term contracts across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
Nicholas holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Université Technologique de Compiègne in France. His foundation in disciplined leadership was shaped early in his career as a lieutenant in the French Army, instilling operational rigor and resilience that continue to guide his executive decision-making.
Throughout his career, Nicholas has been recognized for his operational excellence, strategic growth orientation, and ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including governments, private sector partners, and international investors. Under his leadership, Lobito Atlantic Railway is positioned to become a backbone of regional connectivity, driving sustainable logistics growth and unlocking economic opportunities across Southern and Central Africa. Nicholas emphasizes efficiency improvements, innovative service offerings, and long-term value creation as part of LAR’s ongoing development.
